What is the advantage/disadvantage of going with a 1 piece 4-2-1 header over a 2 piece? I only ask b/c I am swapping a guy my 4-1 for the 4-2-1. Everyone here seems to agree the 4-2-1 is better for blown applications so I am going to swap it out.

A two piece may be easier to install, but has one more place to leak.

CPA is right about that but to set the record strait, 4-2-1 is not neccesarily better for blown apps. The DC 4-2-1 is but the general rule of thumb is Bigger is Better ie Kamakazi. (toobad their customer service and quality control is so shitty or they would probably sell way more units) I think the secondaries or collector were the problem with the DC 4-1's, they are just too restrictive. I tell you one thing though, the 4-2-1 one peice was a breaze to install. Good stuff

The answer: Short primaries. The 4-2-1 has short primaries, which blown applications like better. They also like larger primaries too. The stock manifold has short primaries, which is why it's not too bad for blown apps either.

There is a magazine on the news stand this month..I forgot what is the name of it but in there is an article dyno testing all types of headers such as Mugen, Neuspeed, DC Sports of different types (4-2-1 and 4-1)
and DC sports 4-2-1 came out on to be one of the top (if not the top) for hp gains...Not bad for a $300 header as compare to Mugen $900 and doesn't hold up as good.
Of course, quality, finish, looks is a different story.

It was in Honda Tuning. I was just flippin through it. DC looks to be the best all-around street header in the comparison. It actually makes power between 2k and 5k rpm's. Adds about 6hp at peak. The Mugen makes about 8hp at peak, But makes less power than stock all the way up to about 6800. It also makes 2lb's less torque than stock. Greddy 4-2-1's curve looks pretty close to DC's. Comptech, too. They are close but also cost more. They didn't have the Apexi unit to test though, bummer. This was done on a GSR with AEM CAI and an HKS exhaust.

This is why this comparison is meaningless for FI Integras. No offense intended.

None taken. Also, once your mods go beyond i/h/e, (cams, gears, vtec and fuel tuning,etc...) things change drastically. Oops! Still talking NA. Sorry
I gotta say that if I did have some NA questions, I'd trust the responses of the people on this FI board alot quicker than just about anywhere else.
